CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of August 26, 2013.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Robert Eric Kearney, age 38, of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Kearney is wanted for failure to appear at Plea and Sentencing Court on July 9, 2013.
On November 5, 2012, Trooper Michael Moskel of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Kearney with:1) Simple Assault, M2; 2) Harassment, S; and 3) Criminal Mischief, S.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Moskel states that on October 26, 2012, the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the Chest Falls Campground in Greenwood Township for the report of an assault. Upon investigation it was found that Kearney and the victim had been verbally arguing and Kearney then punched the victim in the mouth and nose. It was also found that Kearney had struck the victim several times with a canopy pipe.
A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for February 20, 2013, at which time all charges were held for Court. On July 9, 2013, Kearney failed to appear for Plea and Sentencing Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
