Nicholas McElwee

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of March 19, 2018.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Nicholas McElwee, age 21, of Rumbarger Ave., DuBois, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that McElwee is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call held on March 8, 2018, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On September 1, 2017, Officer Lance Thompson of the DuBois City Police Department filed a Criminal Complaint charging McElwee with: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, F; 2) Criminal Conspiracy – Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, F; 3) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M; and 4) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Thompson states that on August 31, 2017, Officer Thompson met with a confidential informant to arrange the purchase of cocaine. Subsequently, the confidential informant met with two individuals seated in a vehicle and completed the purchase of cocaine. At that time, Officers made contact with the two individuals seated within the vehicle. Officer Thompson noticed that McElwee, seated in the passenger seat, had the money used to purchase the cocaine on his lap. A subsequent search uncovered additional controlled substances, a scale, and drug paraphernalia.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on September 8, 2017, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 8, 2018, McElwee failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
