FOW – MATTHEW KENNEDY
CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of November 7, 2016.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Matthew Kennedy, age 30, of 4th Street, Clearfield, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Kennedy is wanted for failure to appear at a Preliminary Hearing held on November 2, 2016, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 26, 2016, Officer Sergio Caltagarone of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Kennedy with: 1) Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, M; 2) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M; and 3) Public Drunkenness, S.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Caltagarone states that on June 18, 2016, Officers were on routine patrol when they decided to check on a vehicle that was observed in a parking lot for an extended period of time. When Officers approached the vehicle, they observed the operator, later identified as Kennedy, to be asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and an odor of marijuana to be emanating from the vehicle. Further contact with Kennedy revealed that he was under the influence of controlled substances. Additionally, Officers were able to observe drug paraphernalia within the vehicle.
A Preliminary Hearing was held on November 2, 2016, at which time Kennedy failed to appear and warrant was issued for his arrest.
