CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of March 27, 2017.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Hunter Anderson, age 23, of Old Sawmill Road, Morrisdale, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Anderson is wanted for failure to appear at Sentencing held on March 6, 2017, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On November 16, 2016, Officer Joseph Witherite of the Decatur Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Anderson with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M, 2 counts; 2) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M, 8 counts; and 3) False Identification to Law Enfrocement, M3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Witherite states that on November 14, 2016, while on routine patrol, Officer Witherite encountered a vehicle in an isoloated area known for a high level of drug activity. Upon making contact with the vehicle, Officer Witherite noticed four individuals within the vehcile with various items of drug parapernalia and controled substances. Upon questionnig the individuals, it was related that the four individuals were using controlled substances. At that time, identification information was requested from the four individuals with Anderson intially providing false information. Subsequently, Anderson admitted to ownership of the various pieces of paraphernalia nad controlled substances.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on December 28, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 6, 2017, Anderson failed to appear at Sentencingl and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
