CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of February 19, 2018.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Gregory Martell Jr., age 18, of Crozier Ave., Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Martell is wanted for failure to appear at a Preliminary Hearing held on February 14, 2018, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On December 26, 2017, Sergeant Nathan Curry of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a Criminal Complaint charging Martell with: 1) Theft by Unlawful Taking, M1; and 2) Receiving Stolen Property, M1.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Sergeant Curry states that on December 21, 2017, the victim arrived at the Clearfield Borough Police Department to report that her cell phone, valued at $700, had been stolen from her residence. The victim advised that Martell stayed at the residence the prior evening and when she went to bed, she left her cell phone downstairs. When she woke up in the morning, Martell had already left the residence and her cell phone was missing. Another individual, who accompanied the victim to the station, advised that Martell had the cell phone in his possession the following day and related that he had taken the cell phone from the victim. Upon being confronted with this information, Martell initially denied taking the cell phone; however, he subsequently confessed to taking the cell phone.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on February 14, 2018, at which time Martell failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Race:               White
