FOW – CLAUDIA SHIREY
CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of December 12, 2016.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Claudia Shirey, age 20, of Bush Road, Rochester Mills, Pennsylvania.
Shaw stated that Shirey is wanted for failure to appear at Sentencing Court held on December 6, 2016, at which time a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On August 15, 2016, Corporal Orlando Prosper of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Shirey with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M; 2) Retail Theft, M1; and 3) Receiving Stolen Property, M3.
An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Corporal Prosper states that on August 6, 2016, Officers were dispatched to a local business for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, Officers detained one individual that had fled on foot and made contact with another individual, identified as Shirey. At that time, Shirey was found to be in possession of stolen merchandise from the store as well as a bag. Upon receiving permission to search the bag, Officers located several controlled substances. Shirey related that she did not have prescriptions for the controlled substances.
A Preliminary Hearing was held on September 16, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On December 6, 2016, Shirey failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
