CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of September 19, 2016.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brent Shaffer, age 32, of Clark Road, Olanta, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Shaffer is wanted in two separate cases for failure to appear at Criminal Call held on September 1, 2016, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On March 1, 2016, Officer Alex Burkett of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Shaffer with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M, 3 counts; and 2) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M, 2 counts.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Burkett states that on February 24, 2016, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Both the driver and the passenger, identified as Shaffer, were confirmed to have warrants. Upon exiting the vehicle, Shaffer was searched and was found to be possession of various prescription pills and pieces of drug paraphernalia.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on April 27, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On September 1, 2016, Shaffer failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In a separate case, Trooper Aaron Tiracorda of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Shaffer with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M; and 2) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Tiracorda states that on March 11, 2016, while on routine patrol, Trooper Tiracorda conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Shaffer, and his passenger, several pieces of drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view. A further search of the vehicle revealed several prescription pills.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on April 27, 2016, at which time all charges were held for court. On September 1, 2016, Shaffer failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
