CAC Director Mary Tatum, Glendale School District Student, and DA Shaw

CLEARFIELD- Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that a Glendale School District student has taken a tour of the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County (CAC-CC),  as well as the Clearfield County Courthouse.

Shaw reported that CenClear, our CAC-CC sponsor, has partnered with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services.  CenClear provides group services focusing on independent living skills, self-advocacy training, workplace readiness training, job shadowing, and work based learning experience.

Shaw stated that the student was taken through a tour of the CAC-CC, and toured the Clearfield County Courthouse with a member of the Victim Witness program. Shaw stated that the student expressed interest in the field of criminal investigation, prosecution, and advocacy.  The student was provided with information regarding criminal investigations, prosecutions of criminal investigations, victim advocacy, and the types of college degrees required for each field.

“It was a pleasure meeting with this student and introducing her to the types of professions that can be part of criminal investigations”, Shaw stated.
