DA SHAW REPORTS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

CAC Director Mary Tatum and DA Bill Shaw Celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month

Clearfield – District Attorney William A. Shaw, Jr. reported that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Shaw explained that throughout the month of April there will be events Nationally to generate awareness about this very important issue.

In Clearfield County, Shaw stated that during the month of April the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County will be offering free online “Darkness to Light Stewards Plus” training to Clearfield County residents.

Shaw explained that interested persons can email cac@cenclear.org to enroll in the online training. Shaw noted openings are limited and encouraged interested person to apply quickly. Shaw said this online training provides the public with an opportunity to be trained in identifying and reporting child abuse.

Shaw encourages the public to attend events regarding Child Abuse Prevention and noted that
CenClear is hosting two such events in Clearfield County during April. To learn more about the locations and dates of these events, please visit www.cenclear.org. Shaw said that this month and throughout the year, the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County encourages all individuals and organizations to play a role in making Clearfield County a better place for children and families. By ensuring that parents have the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to care for their children, we can help promote the social and emotional well-being for all children and prevent child maltreatment within families and communities.
