DA SHAW:  CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER RECEIVES DONATION

CLEARFIELD- Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the Child Advocacy Center has received a donation.

Shaw reported that the Clearfield Knights of Columbus Council 409 recently made a donation of nearly 500 Beanie Babies.  Shaw said the generous donation was made to help provide comfort to child victims of abuse.  Shaw noted that stuffed animals are comforting to children and our CAC is working to create a “Child Focused Setting” that provides a safe, comfortable, and neutral environment for forensic interviews.

Shaw explained that “our Child Advocacy Center is seeking accreditation from the National Children’s Alliance (NC) and one of the standards is providing a Child-Focused Setting.”

Shaw said the donation of stuffed Beanie Babies helps us achieve this very important standard.

Shaw thanked the Knights of Columbus Council 409 for their donation and for recognizing the importance of supporting the Child Advocacy Center.
