CLEARFIELD- Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., reported today that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and announced a donation to the Child Advocacy Center.

Shaw reported that the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center, Owned and Operated by The GEO Group, Inc., made a donation of three-thousand dollars to the Clearfield County Child Advocacy Center.

Shaw explained that each year staff members at the MVCC select an organization to raise money for.  This year, staff at the MVCC selected the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County to receive their kind donation.  During the past year, MVCC staff members conducted a number of fund raisers including a basket raffle, yard game competitions, a chili cook-off, a biggest loser challenge, and a variety of raffles.

Shaw thanked the staff at the MVCC for selecting the Clearfield County Child Advocacy Center to receive their generous donation.
