DA SHAW: CAC RECEIVES VISIT FROM STATE OFFICIAL

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw, Jr., reported that on December 3, 2018, Karen Baker, Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR), visited the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County (CAC-CC).

Shaw noted that Baker’s goal that day was to visit the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield Clearfield County and the offices of PASSAGES, INC. Shaw reported that PASSAGES, INC., has offices in Clarion, Jefferson, and Clearfield Counties. PASSAGES, INC., provides free and confidential services to any person in need of assistance as a result of sexual violence, Shaw stated.

Shaw explained that PASSAGES, INC., is a vital member of the Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT) that operates out of the Child Advocacy Center. During Baker’s visit to the CAC-CC, she received a tour and discussed the critical roles that sexual assault centers have throughout the state and how collaboration is vital for survivors.

Shaw thanked Baker for her work throughout the state and taking the time to visit Clearfield County.
