DA SHAW: CAC RECEIVES DONATION FROM GIRL SCOUTS

DA Bill Shaw and CAC Director Mary Tatum with Girl Scouts from Houtzdale Troop 41997

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced receipt of a donation to the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County (CAC-CC).

Shaw reported that Girl Scout Troop 41997 from Houtzdale made a donation of Girl Scout Cookies to the Child Advocacy Center.

Shaw explained that the Girl Scouts from Troop 41997 have been collaborating with the CAC-CC to help increase awareness of Child Abuse Prevention for three consecutive years. Troop 41997 first became involved with the CAC-CC during 2017 when they began working on their “Bronze Award,” which is a great honor to earn for Girl Scouts.

This year, Troop 41997 donated 38 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. Shaw explained that when a Girl Scout sells Girl Scout Cookies, there is a space on the sales form for donations of cookies called “Gift of Caring.” These “Gifts of Caring” are then donated to the organization of the Girl Scout Troop’s choice. Troop 41997 selected to donate their Girl Scout Cookies to the CAC-CC for use when children victims visit the center.

Shaw thanked the Girl Scouts from Troop 41997 for their generous donation and continued support of the CAC-CC.

Shaw explained that the CAC-CC would not be possible without the collaboration and support of the Clearfield County Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT) and community members. Shaw expressed that if you are interested in supporting the CAC-CC to contact cac@cenclear.org.
