CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Shawn A. Kruies, age 25, of Evergreen Road, Luthersburg, Pennsylvania.

Kruies was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on December 27, 2010.

On September 1, 2010, Officer Josh Johnston of the Sandy Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Kruies with: 1) Theft of Services, M2; 2) Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Services, M2; 3) Retail Theft, M2; and 4) Public Drunkenness, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Johnston states that on June 18, 2010, the Sandy Township Police received a report that Kruies had left a DuBois business without paying for services. An employee of the business reported that Kruies and a known female left the business without paying for the services received. When Police located Kruies he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. On October 1, 2010 a Preliminary Hearing was held and Kruies failed to appear, at which time the charges were held for Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that on June 26, 2011, Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Media Barracks, apprehended Kruies in Delaware County, and he was taken into custody without incident.  Kruies is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.

Shaw thanked the Pennsylvania State Police for their hard work and assistance with this case.
