CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brian Hostler, age 22, of 7th Avenue, Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Hostler was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on April 11, 2011.

On February 25, 2011, Trooper Kimberly Ronan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Hostler with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, M2.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Ronan states that in May 2010, the victim reported that her vehicle had been taken while she was attending a party in Houtzdale. The victim's vehicle was later located in a remote area in Blair County. Upon investigation, it was found that Hostler had taken the victim's vehicle, and left it on Kerbaugh Road in Antis Township, Blair County.

A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for March 30, 2011, at which time Hostler failed to appear after having received due and proper notice and a warrant was issued for his arrest. A hearing was held in Hostler's absence and all charges were held for Court.

Shaw stated that on June 27, 2011, Hostler voluntarily surrendered himself to Deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office, and he was taken into custody.

Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office for their assistance with this case.
