ImageCLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Christopher Walters, age 27, of Fallentimber, Pennsylvania.

Walters was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on May 2, 2011.

On December 16, 2010, Trooper Matthew Peacock of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Walters with: 1) Theft By Unlawful Taking, M1; and 2) Receiving Stolen Property, M1.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Peacock states that in September 2010, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into the theft of scrap metal from a property in Beccaria Township. Upon investigation, it was found that Walters had unlawfully removed a large amount of scrap metal from the victim's property.

A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for January 19, 2011, at which time Walters failed to appear after having received due and proper notice and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

In a separate case, Trooper Justin Tkacik of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint on December 13, 2010 charging Walters with Theft By Unlawful Taking, M2.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Tkacik states that on November 8, 2010, the Pennsylvania State Police responded to a Beccaria Township for a report of theft. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim reported that he observed Walters and another individual unlawfully removing scrap metal from his property. The victim also relayed that he had detained Walters at the scene until the arrival of the State Police. Trooper Tkacik made contact with Walters, and did observe a vehicle containing the victim's scrap metal.

A Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for January 26, 2011, at which time Walters failed to appear after having received due and proper notice and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that Walters was located after being lodged in the Cambria County Prison for an unrelated matter.
