An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Ronan states that at on October 22, 2007, the victim reported to the State Police that three firearms were stolen from his residence along Barnes Lane, Woodland, Clearfield County. Shaw stated that Martin had been listed as a "Fugitive of the Week" nearly a year ago, and that this case was more difficult to resolve so it was necessary to employ various investigative techniques in order to locate Martin. Shaw further stated that through those investigative techniques the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office was able to locate Martin in State College, PA, and on May 4, 2011 Martin was apprehended by Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks. Martin was taken into custody without incident, and is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.
