CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Charles English, age 27, of West Street, Curwensville, Pennsylvania.

English was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on March 28, 2011.

On September 7, 2010, Trooper Robert Straw of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging English with: 1) Driving Under the Influence, M; 2) Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, S; 3) Careless Driving, S; and 4) Restraint Systems, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Straw states that on August 7, 2010, while on routine patrol, troopers observed a vehicle cross over both the center line and fog line multiple times. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Straw detected signs of  impairment and requested that English perform field sobriety tests.  After administering the field sobriety tests, English was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood.

Shaw stated that on March 29, 2011, English voluntarily surrendered himself to Deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office, and he was taken into custody.

Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office for their assistance with this case.
