CLEARFIELD - Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that a Clearfield County man has been sentenced to state prison for Kidnapping.

Shaw identified the defendant as 41 year old Glenn A. Robinson of Clearfield. Currently, Robinson is housed in the Clearfield County Jail pending transfer to the State Prison System.

A Criminal Complaint filed by Trooper Shawn Compton of the Pennsylvania State Police, DuBois Barracks, charged Robinson with: 1) Kidnapping, F1; 2) Unlawful Restraint, F2; 3) False Imprisonment, F2; 4) Interference With Custody of Children, F2; 5) Concealment of Whereabouts of a Child, F3; 6) Terroristic Threats, M1; 7) Luring a Child Into a Motor Vehicle, M1; 8) Simple Assault, M1; 9) Simple Assault, M2; 10) Indecent Assault, M2; 11) Harassment, S; and 12) Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked, S.

An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint provides that on July 24, 2010, Robinson picked up the victim at her residence, persuading her to get into his truck by telling her they were going to pick up a dog for her mother. At one point during their travel the victim realized they were not going to pick up a dog, and attempted to get out of the truck. Robinson pulled out a knife and told the victim not to do it again. Robinson took the victim to Parker Dam State Park and parked his vehicle in a wooded area. He instructed the victim to get out of the truck and if she ran he would shoot her. Robinson was in possession of a rifle at the time of the incident. The two began walking in the woods and when the victim was crying and stating she wanted to go home, Robinson struck her twice on the face. When Robinson and the victim returned to the vehicle, he had inappropriate contact with the victim.

On August 12, 2010, Robinson tendered a plea of guilt to the charges. The Honorable Fredric J. Ammerman issued an Order on August 16, 2010, directing that Robinson undergo an Megan's Law assessment by the State Sexual Offender's Board prior to sentencing. Pursuant to Megan's Law, the nature of the charges against Robinson require him to register with the State Police for a period of ten years.

On December 6, 2010, Robinson appeared for sentencing at which time Ammerman sentenced Robinson to a maximum period of twelve years in the State Prison System. Ammerman further Ordered Robinson to have no contact with the victim, any member of the victim's immediate family, or any female under the age of eighteen.

Shaw stated that he was pleased with the investigation by the State Police. Shaw noted that it is important to realize that when this defendant ultimatley is released from prison, he must register with the State Police pursuant to Megan's Law.
