ImageCLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announces that four criminal complaints have been filed against a Decatur Township resident for selling controlled substances.

Shaw identified the Defendant as Leonard Roy Croyle, Jr., of Copelin Road, Philipsburg, Decatur Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.

The criminal complaints charged Croyle with four counts each of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. According to the Criminal Complaints, the acts occurred between February 12, 2009 and March 4, 2009.

Shaw reported that Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop G, Vice and Narcotic Unit, initiated an investigation of Croyle following receipt of information regarding the distribution of heroin in the Philipsburg area. Undercover State Troopers learned that a large volume of heroin was being sold from a residence along Copelin Road in Decatur Township and began an undercover investigation. Shaw stated that during the investigation, undercover Troopers were able to make four separate controlled buys of Heroin from the Defendant.

Shaw stated that he "was extremely pleased with the investigation". Shaw noted that the State Police acted quickly upon gaining information of drug dealing in our area. This case "underscores the position that drug dealers in our community will be identified and prosecuted," Shaw said.

Shaw stated that the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for the near future.

(A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty.)
