FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK - Russel Walter, II

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of September 27, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Russell Walter, II, age 25, of 18th Avenue, Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Walter is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on September 16, 2010.

On February 24, 2010, Trooper Terry Jordan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Woodland Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Walter with: 1)  Burglary, F2, 5 counts; Criminal Trespass, F2, 5 counts; 3) Theft by Unlawful Taking, M2, 5 counts; and 4) Receiving Stolen Property, M2, 5 counts.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Jordan states that between December 1, 2008, and February 1, 2009, the State Police were investigating a series of burglaries that occurred at the Kwik Check Market in Bigler Township, the Royal Oak in Guilich Township, and the Rainbow Inn in Beccaria Township.  During the course of the investigation, Jordan interviewed several suspects.  On June 19, 2009, Jordan interviewed a suspect who provided information supporting the arrest of Walter.  The suspect interviewed was also arrested and charged with conspiracy for participating in the burglaries.

FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK - Corey James Kubiak

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of September 20, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Corey James Kubiak, age 41, of Madera, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Kubiak is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on July 8, 2004.

On July 3, 2002, Trooper Matthew Reifer, of the Pennsylvania State Police, Woodland Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Kubiak with: 1) Driving Under the Influence, M2; 2) Drivers Required to be Licensed, S; and 3) Restraint Systems, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Reifer states that on June 21, 2002, the State Police were dispatched at approximately 5:30 pm to investigate a two vehicle crash on SR 153 approximately one mile south of SR 2027.  Upon arrival, Reifer made contact with Kubiak who was identified as the driver of a pick-up truck involved in the crash.  Kubiak lost control of his vehicle while trying to pass another car.  Kubiak struck the other car causing the crash.  After administering field sobriety tests, Reifer transported Kubiak for a blood test.

The victim, who was driving the other vehicle, reported that he was traveling south on SR 153 when a pick-up came from behind and struck his vehicle.  The victim reported that the pick-up went off the roadway and then returned to the roadway.  The victim's vehicle was then struck again before Kubiak's pick-up went up the roadway and overturned.

 FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK - Angela Owens

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of September 13, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as  Angela Jean Owens, age 37, of Main Street, Woodland, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Ownes is wanted on two separate cases for failure to appear at Criminal Call.

On September 6, 2006, Trooper  Richard Hoover of the Pennsylvania State Police, Philipsburg Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Owens with: 1) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, M; 2) Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, S; 3)Restraint Systems; and 4) Notice of Address Change, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Hoover states that while on routine patrol on SR 53 near Glendale Avenue, in Morrisdale, Hoover observed a grey in color Jeep Cherokee cross over the fog line and make several abrupt swerves while crossing the double yellow line before crossing back to the correct lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped after observing the vehicle for approximately two miles.  Upon stopping the vehicle, Hoover detected a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath, as well as other signs of intoxication.  After administering field sobriety tests, Hoover took Owens into custody and transported her for a blood test.

 A Preliminary Hearing was held on November 1, 2006, at which time Owens waived the charges to Court.  On July 24, 2007, Owens failed to appear for Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK - Joshua Willoughby

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of September 7, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Joshua Matthew Willoughby, age 26, of Robinson Avenue, Hyde, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Willoughby is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on September 21, 2006.

On December 30, 2005, Officer Crystal Panebianco of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Willoughby with: 1) Theft by Unlawful Taking, M1; 2) Receiving Stolen Property, M1; 3) Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds Received, M1; and 4) Retail Theft, M1.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Panebianco states that the Lawrence Township Police received a complaint on November 16, 2005 from the owner of the Hyde Uni-Mart reporting an employee theft.  The owner stated that he received a call from the manager of the Choice store located on South Second Street in Clearfield Borough.  The manager stated that a male individual entered the Choice store to cash in multiple lottery tickets.  The manager was suspicious because of the amount of lottery tickets being cashed in and because the numbers on the tickets were so close in sequence.  The manager of the Choice store was able to determine that the tickets were obtained from the Hyde Uni-Mart because of identification numbers located on the tickets.

FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK - Jenna Jean Grumblatt

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of August 16, 2010.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Jenna Jean Grumblatt, age 27, of East Park Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Grumblatt is wanted for failure to appear at Arraignment Court on May 17, 2006.

On March 23, 2006, Officer Steve Maholtz of the DuBois City Police Department filed a Criminal Complaint charging Grumblatt with: 1) Simple Assault, M2; and 2) Retail Theft, M2.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Maholtz states that on May 15, 2006, the DuBois City Police were dispatched to the Sheetz store on Brady Street for a report of individuals fighting with an employee.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who was a store clerk. The victim reported that Grumblatt was observed concealing items on her person and then leaving the store without paying for the items.  Grumblatt then assaulted the victim, when the victim attempted to detain Grumblatt.  The victim recovered a purse that was dropped by Grumblatt.  The purse contained Grumblatt's driver license and various papers with Grumblatt's name.  Grumblatt fled in 1993 Ford Sedan.
