CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Joni Shawley, age 34, of Banion Road, Madera, Pennsylvania.

Shawley was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on April 4, 2016.

On September 25, 2015, Officer Daniel Podliski of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, and Agents of the Office of the Attorney General, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Shawley with: 1) Delivery of a Controlled Substance, F, 2 counts; and 2) Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, F3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Podliski and Agents of the Office of the Attorney General, states that on January 5, 2015, Agents received a call from a confidential informant who stated that he/she had contact with an individual, identified as Shawley, who sells prescription medication. The next day, Agents and Officer Podliski met with the confidential informant to set up a purchase of prescription drugs from Shawley. After exchanging a series of text messages and phone calls, the confidential informant set up a purchase of Adderall and Hydrocodone pills from Shawley. Subsequently, the confidential informant and an Agent met with Shawley outside of a local business where the transaction was completed. The Adderall and Hydrocodone pills that were purchased were then sent to the lab for testing.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on October 21, 2015, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 31, 2016, Shawley failed to appear at a Pretrial Conference and a warrant was issued for her arrest..

Shaw stated that on April 5, 2016, Shawley voluntarily surrendered herself to Deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.
