CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Jasmine Santos, age 22, of Woodbine Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Santos was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on February 29, 2016.

On January 14, 2016, Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Santos with: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, F; 2) Contraband/Controlled Substance to a Confined Person , F2; and 3) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Patrick states that on May 16, 2015, Santos was visiting an inmate at the State Correctional Institute at Houtzdale. At that time, Santos was observed handing a bag of candy to an inmate that contained three balloons. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the balloons contained a controlled substance. The substance was later sent to the lab and tested positive for marijuana. The inmate was subsequently interviewed and admitted to consuming the balloons containing marijuana.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on February 17, 2016, at which time Santos failed to appear and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Shaw stated that on March 9, 2016, Santos voluntarily surrendered herself to Deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.
