CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Darin Cooley, age 34, of Patterson Ave., DuBois, Pennsylvania.

Cooley was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on October 10, 2016.

Shaw stated that Cooley was wanted in two separate cases for failure to appear. Cooley failed to appear at Criminal Call held on September 1, 2016, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Cooley additionally failed to appear at a Preliminary Hearing held on October 7, 2016, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 13, 2016, Officer Casey Doherty of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Cooley with: 1) Firearms Not to Be Carried Without a License, F3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Doherty states that on March 8, 2016, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, Officers observed the driver, identified as Cooley, as well as his passengers acting suspicious. Officers further observed items consistent with drug activity. Upon receiving permission to search the vehicle, Officers located a loaded pistol to be concealed within a bag.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on May 6, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On September 1, 2016, Cooley failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In a separate case, Officer David Tracy of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Cooley with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on May 6, 2016, at which time Donnelly failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that on October 18, 2016, the Reynoldsville Police Department received an anonymous tip regarding the location of Cooley. At that time, Officers proceeded to the location and took Cooley into custody. Cooley is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.

Shaw thanked the Reynoldsville Police Department for their assistance with this case. Shaw further acknowledged that Cooley was located as the direct result of a citizen’s willingness to provide information to law enforcement.
