CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of March 12, 2018.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Cory Irwin, age 34, of Neeper Road, Curwensville, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Irwin is wanted in two separate cases. Irwin failed to appear at Criminal Call held on March 8, 2018, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Irwin also failed to appear for sentencing held on March 6, 2018, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On November 30, 2017, Officer Alex Burkett of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a Criminal Complaint charging Irwin with: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, F; 2) Criminal Conspiracy – Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, F; 3) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M; and 4) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Burkett states that on November 30, 2017, Officers observed a male standing outside of a vehicle shortly after midnight. As Officers approached the vehicle, Officer Burkett observed 4 individuals inside of the vehicle. Upon making contact with the operator, identified as Julie Fogle, she related that she and front seat passenger, Trevor Brubaker, were in the area visiting rear passenger, Cory Irwin. At that time, Officers observed that the occupants appeared nervous and a large amount of cash was visible. A drug K9 unit was contacted.

While waiting on the K9 unit, Fogle advised Officers that the car contained methamphetamine and scales. After the K9 alerted on the vehicle, Officers discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine, US currency, scales, and various pieces of drug paraphernalia. Upon interviewing the occupants, they admitted to distributing methamphetamine.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on December 6, 2017, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 8, 2018, Irwin failed to appear at Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In a separate case, Irwin failed to appear for Sentencing held on March 6, 2018, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Irwin was previously charged with: 1) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M; 2) Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M; and 3) Prohibited Offensive Weapon, M1.
