CAPTURED – MATTHEW ROCKEY

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Matthew Rockey, age 21, of Winburne, Pennsylvania.

Rockey was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on July 23, 2012.

On February 24, 2012, Trooper Richard Hoover of the Pennsylvania State Police, Philipsburg Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Rockey with Receiving Stolen Property, F3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Hoover states that in September 2010, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into the theft of an ATV from a residence in Rush Township.  Upon investigation it was found that Rockey had possession of the stolen ATV, which was valued at approximately $6,500.00. When the ATV was recovered in Clearfield County it had been completely destroyed.

A Preliminary Hearing was held on March 21, 2012, at which time all charges were held to court.

FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK – November 19, 2012

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of November 19, 2012.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Walter William Stevens, age 67, of Apple Street, Fallentimber, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Stevens is wanted for failure to appear at trial scheduled on November 8, 2012.

On December 12, 2011, Trooper Brian Elensky of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Stevens with: 1) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, M; 2) Opening and Closing Vehicle Doors, S; 3) Windshield Obstructions and Wipers, S; 4) Driving On Roadways Laned for Traffic, S; 5) Careless Driving, S; 6) Reckless Driving, S; and 7) Restraint Systems, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Elensky states that on October 30, 2011, while on routine patrol, troopers observed a vehicle crossing over both the white fog line and the yellow center line. Troopers also observed the vehicle traveling in the oncoming lane of traffic. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Elensky detected signs of  impairment and requested that Stevens perform field sobriety tests.  After administering the field sobriety tests, Stevens was taken into custody and transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing. FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK – November 5, 2012

CAPTURED

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of November 5, 2012.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as William John Lamb, Sr., age 43, of Copelin Road, Philipsburg, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Lamb is wanted for failure to appear at Plea and Sentencing Court on October 23, 2012.

On September 9, 2011, Chief Timothy O'Leary of the Decatur Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Lamb with:1) Theft By Unlawful Taking, F3; 2) Receiving Stolen Property, F3; and 3) Criminal Trespass, F3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Chief O'Leary states that on August 16, 2011, the Decatur Township Police Department received a report of a theft of various pieces of metal from a residence located on Copelin Road in Decatur Township. Upon investigation it was found that Lamb had unlawfully removed approximately $2,800.00 worth of metal from the victim's property.
