SHAW ANNOUNCES ARREST OF MULTI-COUNTY BURGLARY SUSPECT

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that charges have been filed against a Clarion County man.

Shaw identified the defendant as Jerry Lee Ritchey, Jr., age 36, of Southern Avenue, Strattanville, Pennsylvania.

On July 26, 2011, Trooper William Mostyn of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Ritchey with: 1) Burglary, F2, 4 Counts; 2) Criminal Trespass, F2, 4 Counts; 3) Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, M, 2 Counts; 4)Criminal Mischief, M, 2 Counts; and 5) Criminal Mischief, S. Trooper Mostyn also obtained a warrant for Ritchey's arrest.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed with the complaint provides that the Pennsylvania State Police were conducting a multi-county investigation of multiple burglaries of commercial businesses.  As a result of information and evidence obtained from those investigation, Ritchey was developed as a suspect. Furthermore, based on a Court Order, the State Police were able to place a tracking device on Ritchey's vehicle that enabled  State Troopers to track Ritchey's movements. Continue reading

CAPTURED- KIMBERLY RIHEL

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Kimberly Rihel, age 34, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

Rihel was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on June 13, 2011.

On November 17, 2010, Officer J. Michael Morris of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Rihel with: 1) Criminal Conspiracy, F2, 2 Counts; 2) Possession of Controlled Substance Contraband By Inmate Prohibited, F2; 3) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M, 2 Counts.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Officer Morris states that in August 2010, Officers received a report that an inmate at the Clearfield County Jail was in possession of controlled substances. Upon investigation it was found that Rihel had conspired to have controlled substances sent to her while incarcerated in the jail, and that controlled substances had been sent to Rihel. Officers recovered the controlled substances from Rihel.

CAPTURED- KIMBERLY RIHEL

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Kimberly Rihel, age 34, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

Rihel was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on June 13, 2011.

On November 17, 2010, Officer J. Michael Morris of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Rihel with: 1) Criminal Conspiracy, F2, 2 Counts; 2) Possession of Controlled Substance Contraband By Inmate Prohibited, F2; 3) Possession of a Controlled Substance, M, 2 Counts.

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brandi Lynn Pace, age 27, of Viola Pike, Smithmill, Pennsylvania.

Pace was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on June 27, 2011.

On April 18, 2011, Trooper Terry Jordan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Pace with: 1) Theft By Unlawful Taking, F3; and 2) Receiving Stolen Property, F3.


An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Jordan states that in March 2011, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into a theft that occurred at a residence in Gulich Township. Upon investigation, it was found that Pace had unlawfully removed approximately $2,400.00 worth of jewelry from the victim's residence. Continue reading

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK – July 18, 2011

CAPTURED

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 18, 2011.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Joseph Hoover, Jr., age 23, of Munson, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Hoover is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on July 14, 2011.

On March 20, 2010, Lieutenant Todd E. Lombardo of the Morris-Copper Regional Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Hoover with 1) Theft By Unlawful Taking, F3; 2) Receiving Stolen Property, F3; and 3) Criminal Trespass, S.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Lt. Lombardo states that in February 2010, the Morris-Copper Regional Police began an investigation into a theft that occurred at a coal site located in Hawk Run, Pennsylvania. Upon investigation, it was found that Hoover had unlawfully removed various items valued at approximately $7,500.00 from the property.

CAPTURED – BRIAN HOSTLER

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brian Hostler, age 22, of 7th Avenue, Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Hostler was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on April 11, 2011.

On February 25, 2011, Trooper Kimberly Ronan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Hostler with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, M2.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Ronan states that in May 2010, the victim reported that her vehicle had been taken while she was attending a party in Houtzdale. The victim's vehicle was later located in a remote area in Blair County. Upon investigation, it was found that Hostler had taken the victim's vehicle, and left it on Kerbaugh Road in Antis Township, Blair County. Continue reading

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brian Hostler, age 22, of 7th Avenue, Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Hostler was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on April 11, 2011.

On February 25, 2011, Trooper Kimberly Ronan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Hostler with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, M2.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Ronan states that in May 2010, the victim reported that her vehicle had been taken while she was attending a party in Houtzdale. FUGITIVE OF THE WEEK – July 11, 2011

CAPTURED

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 11, 2011.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Richard Gump, age 45, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Gump is wanted for failure to appear at Preliminary Hearing on June 8, 2011.

On May 3, 2011, Sergeant Gregory Neeper of the Clearfield Borough Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Gump with: 1) Theft By Deception, M; and 2) Receiving Stolen Property, M.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Sgt. Neeper states that in April 2011, the Clearfield Borough Police began an investigation into a theft that occurred at County National Bank. Upon investigation, it was found that Gump had unlawfully obtained money while at the bank on April 6, 2011.

CAPTURED- JEREMIAH WISOR

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Jeremiah Wisor, age 21, of Park Avenue, Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

Wisor was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on June 20, 2011.

On February 8, 2011, Trooper Kimberly Ronan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Wisor with Theft By Unlawful Taking, F3.

An Affidavit of Probable Cause filed by Trooper Ronan states that in July 2010, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into a theft that occurred at a residence in West Decatur. Upon investigation, it was found that Wisor had unlawfully removed approximately $3,000.00 from the victim's residence. Continue reading
