DUBOIS MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr. announced today that charges have been filed against a DuBois man for possessing child pornography.

Shaw identified the defendant as 30 year old Steven John Cable of Pentz Run Avenue, DuBois.

The criminal complaint, filed by Sergeant Rodney Fairman of the Sandy Township Police Department, charges Cable with 27 counts of Sexual Abuse of Children.

An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint states that Sandy Township Police were contacted by a female who stated she was having a relationship with Cable.  The female stated that she and her two children stayed at Cable’s residence on December 19, 2008.  The female reported that she was unable to sleep during the evening and logged onto Cable’s computer.  The female located numerous nude photos of young females and child pornography.  The female did not inform Cable of her discovery.

ESCAPED INMATE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr. announced today that
an inmate who escaped from the Clearfield County Jail has been taken into custody.

Shaw identified the inmate as 32 year old Michael Rodriguez, of Allegheny Street, Buffalo, NY.

Rodriguez was being held in the Clearfield County Jail awaiting trial on charges of Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, and related charges.  The charges relate to August 10, 2009, incident where Rodriguez was charged by the DuBois City Police.  The affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Randal Young, alleges that Rodriguez stole a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix from a service station in Buffalo.  Rodriguez then traveled to DuBois City and broke into a residence of a female acquaintance.  The victim reported to police that she was awakened by Rodriguez who was choking her.

On August 14, 2009, Rodriguez waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges filed by DuBois City Police.  Bail was set at $150,000.00 and Rodriguez remained incarcerated pending trial.

SHAW ANNOUNCES CHARGES FILED AGAINST PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced today that charges have been filed against a personal care attendant accused of stealing money from a patient.

Shaw identified the defendant as 24 year old Bracie Layne Wolfe, of Maple Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania.

The criminal complaint filed by Sgt. Joseph Stanton of the DuBois City Police Department charges Wolfe with: 1) Theft by Unlawful Taking  F3; and 2) Receiving Stolen Property, F3.

An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint reports that on September 3, 2009, the DuBois City Police were notified of a theft that occurred at a residence on East Weber Avenue.  The affidavit states that a female victim was receiving in-home care from Wolfe and another female between the hours of 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. After providing services, Wolfe returned to the residence unaccompanied by her co-worker and assisted the victim with bathing.  The victim reports that she kept $2,380.00 in a small black wallet attached to her bra.  Wolfe had assisted the victim in undressing and bathing.  After bathing, the victim looked for her wallet and found the wallet located inside a pillow-case.  The wallet was empty.  The victim immediately called police and reported the theft.
